Our Brushed and Lacquered Solid European Oak Wood Flooring (product code SO2035) boasts impressive durability and an unparalleled lifespan to match. With a total thickness of 18mm, each board can be sanded and re-finished up to 8 times, making re-installation of new flooring obsolete. In order to vouch for the longevity of our product, this choice of flooring comes with a 25 year guarantee, promising unmatched performance.
The striking single plank effect of each board is perfect for those who want the prototypical look of hardwood flooring for their home. Measuring at a total width of 125mm, this product is considered quite narrow. Whilst narrow boards are suited to many styles of room, the increased ratio of joins to boards serves larger spaces particularly well, bringing proportion and preventing the feeling of emptiness. This is especially true for the species of oak used in the construction of this product. Milled from an ABC grade of timber, each board takes advantage of the wood’s natural imperfections, including knots, blemishes, and variations in colour. This makes for a stunning feature of complex grains and rustic textures.
During the manufacturing process, a micro-bevel is cut into the edges of each board. This creates a characteristic ‘V’ in the joins between planks, allowing every board to be individualistic. Alongside a 4V Groove, the surface veneer undergoes the procedure of brushing, removing the soft grain from the face of the wood. As a result, additional textures are introduced, and older grain is exposed, providing warmth and personality. Finally, a lacquer finish is applied to the board, sealing the flooring with a characteristic shine. This provides resistance to daily wear and accidental spillages.
Each plank is cut to a random length, ranging between 300mm to 1200mm. As no two planks will ever look the same, this flooring will always be unique. In addition, every board has been fitted with a ‘tongue and groove’ installation system, giving you a variety of fitting methods to choose from. Whether you choose to fix SO2035 directly to a subfloor, or float your boards without nails and adhesive, your flooring will always remain secure.
