125mm Golden Brushed and Lacquered European Solid Oak Wood Flooring, 18mm Thick – product code SO3005 – is a random length product (RL). This product has random lengths of 300-1200mm.
SO3005 is pre finished with approximately seven coats of lacquer. This finish gives the timber ultimate protecting and durability as well as providing it with a maintainable surface area, however as this is a natural product we would always advise you to mop up any spillages or splashes as quickly as possible.
SO3005 is also brushed, thus falling into the ‘brushed and lacquered’ finish category. This process is achieved by removing the softer grain from the surface of each floorboard - leaving only the hard grain. This creates a textured, natural look and feel to very plank. In addition to this, each plank has a V groove, bevelled edge giving each plank more natural definition.
Given the fact SO3005 is 18mm in thickness, this product can be sanded down and refinished up to eight times in total, however; it shouldn’t be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years after installation.
The grade of this product is the ‘rustic’ grade. This means that certain planks will have more knots and natural imperfections - giving the product much more character.
There are three differing ways in which you can install this product; secret nailed through the tongue onto a wooden subfloor; glued down to the subfloor with use of a flooring adhesive or alternatively, as a floating floor on top of an underlay. Please note, if you opt to lay this floor as a floating floor; with it being a tongue and groove product, you would still be required to use a PVA based joint glue for the joints but the floor as a whole would be floating. Please see our ‘accessories’ section for further details.
