A warm matt textured traditional golden solid oak flooring product which has been hand scraped achieving an extremely traditional product which is full of natural character and texture. The hand scraped finish creates wave like ridges on top of the surface making the flooring more noticeable when touched and when the light reflects off the top of the surface. Once this product has been hand scraped we then brushed and applied seven coats of a hard wax oil to the top of the surface giving a matt textured look, as opposed to a shiny lacquered finish. Any wood flooring products which are brushed make it extremely hard for any scuffs and scratches to appear on the surface as the flooring is already textured, brushed flooring products are ideal for pet owners or children. The plank width of this golden oak product is 125mm (12.5cm) with an overall thickness of 18mm (1.8cm) allowing the consumer to be able to sand and refinish the flooring approximately seven times giving the flooring a lifespan of over 100 years. The plank lengths come in random lengths between 300-1200mm (30-120cm) allowing you to randomly stagger the floor boards creating a natural look, random length products also minimise wastage upon ordering which can result in further savings. There are three ways in which you can install this solid hand scraped floor; a floating floor where you simply just glue the tongue and groove and allow the floor to float, secret nail the floor in to a wooden sub floor and finally fully bond the flooring down with an adhesive. The key to installation is to make sure your sub floor is level prior to fitting. The grade of this product on display is ABC which is a rustic grade as it is a mixture of grading’s, this means you will you get a selection of natural knots and imperfections allowing the floor to showcase it natural beauty. All our oak flooring products are sourced in Europe simply because the quality is second to none and we take pride in offering high quality goods at affordable prices.

If you’re looking to install solid or engineered wood flooring by hand, here are a few things to bear in mind:Tongue and Groove vs Click
Before you purchase your solid wood flooring, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Tongue and Groove’ and ‘Click’.
• Tongue and Groove is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Along one edge, a ‘tongue’ protrudes from the centre of the board, whilst on the other, an indented groove is cut into the wood. This allows each board to fit together securely.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Like tongue and groove, click boards fit together, however, the click method allows the boards to lock into place, snapping together with a single movement.Floating
Many fitters prefer floating their boards due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click planks can be fitted this way.
Adhesive is applied to the groove for added stability, and underlay is fitted underneath the board. This cuts down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.Fixing
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will encourage a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Tongue and Groove and Click boards can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
Depending on the material of your subfloor, boards can be fixed in a variety of ways. For solid surfaces such as concrete, adhesive is applied directly under the board. For wooden subfloors, the boards can be ‘secret nailed’ along the tongue. Both methods are equally beneficial, giving you outstanding results.
