190mm Oiled Engineered Oak Wood Flooring - product code EO2068 - has a total thickness of 14mm with a 3mm solid hardtop wear layer. This product comes in fixed lengths of 1900mm and has been finished with a UV oil which gives the plank more texture and character while protecting the oak underneath from the everyday stresses our floors face.

Each plank has a 4V Groove, bevelled edge which gives each individual plank higher definition. This floor can be sanded down up to 4 times however it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years. The grade of this product is rustic meaning the planks have more knots and imperfections giving the product much more character and warmth. The rustic grade is the most popular grade in the wood flooring industry

The EO2068 can be installed using one of three techniques. Option one, ‘floating floor’, is achieved by gluing the tongue and groove parts of the board and allow the floor as a whole to float, usually cushioned with use of an underlay. Option two would be to secret nail the tongue part of the plank into a wooden subfloor. Finally, option three would be to stick the timber directly onto the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive. Please see the full, downloadable installation guide in the installation tab above for more information.

Engineered flooring doesn't just look beautiful, it is also incredibly practical as well. Thanks to the way engineered flooring is constructed the material is incredibly hard wearing. This means that it is perfect for using in kitchens, where exposure to dirt is quite common. It is also able to endure changes in temperatures, meaning that engineered wood is better at expanding and contracting safely so not to damage the material. Because of this the EO2068 can be used with underfloor heating, an important factor to consider as most new build come preinstalled with underfloor heating.
