240mm Unfinished Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring – product code EO2099 - has a total thickness of 15mm with a 4mm solid hardtop wear layer. This product comes in fixed lengths of 1900mm and is unfinished allowing the customer to finish it to how they desire. Recently self finishing has become more popular as there are a variety of oils and lacquers on market, which offer more accuracy when creating the perfect looking floor.

Each plank has a 4V Groove, bevelled edge giving each plank more definition individually. This floor can be sanded down up to 7 times however it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years after purchase. The grade of this product is rustic meaning the planks have more knots and imperfections, allowing character and warmth to seep through. The rustic grade is currently the most popular grade in the wood flooring industry.

The way in which engineered flooring is made makes it not only stunning, but practical too. This means that it is perfect for using in kitchens, where exposure to dirt is quite common. It is also able to be used with underfloor heating as it is able to withstand exposure to different temperatures without damage. Because of this you can enjoy engineered flooring in rooms such as basements and conservatories.

The EO2099 can be installed using one of three techniques. Option one, ‘floating floor’, is achieved by gluing the tongue and groove parts of the board and allow the floor as a whole to float, usually cushioned with use of an underlay. Option two would be to secret nail the tongue part of the plank into a wooden subfloor. Finally, option three would be to stick the timber directly onto the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive. Please see the full, downloadable installation guide in the installation tab above for more information.
