Vinyl is well known for its practicality and durability. This product will look as good as new after many years of heavy domestic use, so don’t worry about laying it in areas that will experience high foot traffic. It is also resilient against stains, water and scratches- making it an excellent choice for kitchens and bathrooms. Our 20-year guarantee shows we trust in the resilience in our products too!
This flooring exhibits an easy going, plain style - ideal if you have patterned wall papers or a busy décor, however the plank distinctions give this product another dimension. Its neutral colour means it will go nicely with any colour and décor theme. A characteristic rug would beautifully complement this flooring. If you’re looking for a clean cut, contemporary look then we recommend this product.
Perhaps vinyl’s best feature is its ability to withstand fluctuating temperatures, meaning you can install under floor heating, something real wood cannot do. As well as this giving your vinyl warmth, it is also cushioned underfoot.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
