This is a very unique style of vinyl flooring, due to the huge variation of colours that flow charmingly throughout. This also adds to the natural look of the flooring, as well as the convincing knots and grains replicating oak’s natural splendour almost perfectly.
You can match this impressive flooring with so many different colour and interior themes. It would suit both a contemporary and traditional interior with its easy-going appearance. A large rug would not only go beautifully with this product, but also protect it from wear and tear.
Vinyl is an extremely practical choice of flooring especially in busy family households; with only requiring a sweep and a mop a couple of times a week to keep it looking in tip top condition. With it being waterproof, it’s the perfect choice for bathrooms and kitchens which see higher water exposure than other rooms.
Vinyl is great if you have pets and children due to being scratch and stain proof. Although your pets’ claws are not likely to scratch vinyl, we’d recommend keeping them trim to avoid disappointment. Equally, although vinyl wont stain easily, clean up anything as soon as you can.
Vinyl will last for years after you first install it, even with heavy domestic use, as long as it is cared for sufficiently. Once more, underfloor heating is possible with vinyl, something we are seeing more and more of in our homes. We also offer a superb 20-year guarantee!
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
