Elgin Tidal Oak 190 x 20/6mm Wood Flooring has a thickness of 20mm with a 6mm solid hardtop wear layer. This product comes in fixed lengths of 1900mm and boasts an oiled finish, which gives it a protective hard wearing layer that also looks beautiful.
This floor can be sanded down up to 4 times; however, it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years. Additionally, each plank has a 4V Groove bevelled edge which gives each individual plank an incredible sense of definition and authenticity. The grade of this product is rustic, meaning all the planks will have some knots and imperfections which help in creating a stronger sense of character and warmth. The oak has also been smoked to give it a beautiful, aged look.
Engineered wood flooring looks incredible but it is also incredibly practical too. Engineered wood flooring is made from layers of plywood stuck together before being finished with a layer of lamella. This not only makes it extremely durable, but resistant to temperature changes too. Engineered wood floors can therefore be used with underfloor heating and are also suitable for conservatories and kitchens, where temperatures often fluctuate.
The surface of the planks of this beautiful engineered wood floor has been ‘brushed’ to create a natural, textured finish that perfectly disguises scratches and scrapes. This makes it a great choice if you have kids or pets at home.
The Elgin Tidal Oak can be installed using one of two techniques. Option one would be to secret nail the tongue part of the plank into a wooden subfloor. Option two would be to stick the timber directly onto the subfloor with use of flooring adhesive.
