Vinyl is immensely popular due to its incredible durability and practical qualities. It is very hard wearing; therefore it is more than suitable or high foot traffic areas in your home. It is also water and stain proof, meaning many homeowners opt for vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom.
The natural looking knots and grains of this splendid flooring make for a remarkable imitation of real wood flooring. The variation of colours flows perfectly throughout, giving your room more character and add to the rustic appeal.
The soft ashy tone of this product makes for a neutral look, meaning it would suit any room and different furnishing themes. The gentle tone of this product evokes feelings of relaxation, something we strive for in our homes.
Not only is vinyl extremely durable and hard wearing, it is also cushioned and warm under foot. Perhaps the best feature of vinyl flooring is its ability to cope with underfloor heating, something very desirable on those bitter winter nights.
Vinyl has an extremely easy upkeep, with it only needed a quick sweep and a mop a few times a week. Once more, the variation of pattern in this flooring means it is more likely to hide the dirt than a plainer flooring. We also offer an amazing lifetime guarantee!
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
