Karndean Knight Opus Sandstone is a vinyl flooring product from vinyl flooring specialists Karndean. This product is 2.5 mm thick so it will have a long lifespan. This product is 457 mm wide and 305 mm long. Vinyl flooring is an effective way to get a high quality finish for a low price and vinyl flooring is softer than other types of flooring.
This is a beige colour but has subtle darker patterns to provide a authentic sandstone finish. The pattern makes this product standout and gives it a textured finish. Please take your time to browse through all our Karndean products on display as we offer many different styles of woods, stones and tiles.
Vinyl with a stone effect can suit both contemporary and classic interiors, but removes any slip hazards caused by authentic stone flooring. The coldness and hardness is also eradicated with the underfloor heating compatibility with vinyl, and not only that, but vinyl is so much cheaper.
Vinyl flooring does not look noticeably different from the material it emulates, but is always a fraction of the price of authentic alternatives. It is comfortable for walking on, as it is thick, cushioned, and works well with underfloor heating to maintain heat year round that tiles for example cannot offer. Vinyl is also hard-wearing, meaning it can withstand lots of footfall, as well as being non-absorbent, anti-slip and easy to clean. This makes it suitable for the bathroom, kitchen, hallway, lounge and dining room, aided by the fact it is available in the style of wood, tiles, stone, mosaic and other patterns.
Karndean has become a leading luxury vinyl flooring manufacturer which offers ultimate protection, durability and is easy to clean so it is ideal for the home and businesses. All Karndean products are waterproof making it suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. Gluing the vinyl flooring down increases the stability of the vinyl flooring.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
