This stunning vinyl flooring presents the look of natural oak so well that it’s almost impossible to tell it apart from the real thing. The natural imitation is done through the grains, knots and colour variation that flows charmingly throughout. Vinyl is ideal if you enjoy the look of real but need something at a cheaper price and easier maintenance.
Vinyl is possibly the most practical and easy-going flooring choice. It is water, scratch and stain proof, perfect for rooms that see high exposure to this such as the kitchen or bathroom. Vinyl is also incredibly durable, lasting for many years after installation while still looking good as new. It will cope with heavy usage and high foot fall, withstanding whatever your busy household will throw at it.
The product presents an interesting variation of colours that will go with many different furnishings and pick up different tones in the room. Therefore, you should have no concerns if you do decide to change things around. We have also included a fantastic 25-year guarantee to give you peace of mind!
Perhaps one of vinyl’s best properties is its ability to cope with underfloor heating, something materials such as solid wood cannot cope with. This makes it very popular with modern homes, so it is worth giving yourself the option of this as it will help with the selling value when it is time to move on.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
