|Pile Type||Luxury Soft Saxony Pile|
|Warranty||10 Year Warranty|
Receive unparalleled versatility and comfort with our Manilla 70 Beige Luxury Soft Saxony Carpet (product code – carpet2011). The surface pile is woven from soft polypropylene yarn, boasting an impressive height of 12mm. Each carpet has a varying width of 4m and 5m, weighing in at 1050gr/m2. This is a perfect solution for areas of heavy foot traffic, resisting pile crush underfoot.
The face of this carpet has been shorn to create a deep saxony finish. As a result, each fibre promises warm textures and welcoming depth with every step. Alongside this, the beige colouration promotes neutral, earthy tones, and can be used to compliment a range of interior styles. The pile has been specially designed to be soil and stain retardant, and is easily cleaned with light vacuuming.
For strength and support, this carpet has been attached with an action backing. Alongside added dimensional stability, this type of backing allows for stretch fitting, making installation effortless. As a gesture of our confidence in this product, we offer an incredible 10-year warranty, giving you peace of mind from the moment of purchase.
If you’re looking to install carpet by hand, here are a few things to bear in mind:
Before you purchase your carpet, check which backing has been attached. There are three main types: ‘Felt’, ‘Action’, and ‘Gel’.
• Felt backing is flexible and cost effective, removing the need for underlay. This is a perfect choice for DIYers and homeowners working on a tight budget.
• Action backing is durable and strong, and will deliver an outstanding lifespan. This choice of backing is fitted using carpet grippers, proving quick to install.
• Gel backing combines the versatility of felt and the dimensional stability of action backed carpets. Like felt, gel backing does not require underlay.
Adhesive can be used with or without underlay. Once the subfloor is prepared, adhesive is applied directly under the felt or gel backed carpet, holding it permanently in place.
If underlay is installed, a double stick method should be employed. Glue down the underlay using a release type adhesive, before fitting the carpet above with a permanent adhesive. Remember, underlay is optional with felt and gel backed carpets.
Stretch fitting is more traditional, and is the preferred method for installing action backed carpets. Felt backed carpets can also be fitted using this method, however it is more common with the former. Do not use this method for gel backed carpets.
Carpet grippers are fitted around the perimeter of the room, and underlay is applied to the subfloor. Once this has been achieved, the action or felt back carpet is attached to the gripers, and stretched into place to create an even surface with no ripples.
