This stunning SPC herringbone flooring boasts a rich and dramatic colour that will add luxury and a plush feel to any room. A darker flooring not only presents us with a traditional feel, but also is better at hiding dirt and stains than a lighter floor. We’d recommend this flooring if your home is more likely to be exposed to these or if a classic interior is to your taste. Match this flooring with lighter colours to really make it pop!
Vinyl is one of the most durable choices of flooring available on the market. It will withstand many years of heavy use and high foot traffic without showing wear, it will cope with lots of abuse! This makes it very popular with family households and commercial use. Vinyl is also scratch, stain and water proof, perfect for rooms that see high exposure to these such as the kitchen and bathroom.
One of vinyl’s most useful qualities is its ability to cope with under floor heating, something we are seeing more and more of in modern homes. It is therefore worth giving yourself the option of this if you can, as it will help with the selling value of your home when it is time to move on. We’ve also included a generous 30-year guarantee to give you peace of mind!
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
