Our Nest Rigid Core Golden Herringbone Luxury Vinyl Flooring (product code – NESTV311) measures at 5mm in depth, delivering a perfect balance of lightweight design and unrivalled durability. Each tile is composed of a stable limestone core and hypoallergenic cork backing, proving both stable in heat and direct sunlight, and 100% waterproof in any interior setting. Alongside this, Nest Rigid Core tiles are environmentally respectful, and boast low chemical emissions and an A+ indoor air quality rating to match. Because of this, you can rest assured that you’re making an ecologically progressive choice that benefits your home, and the environment.
Each tile has been fitted with an impressive 0.5mm wear layer for enduring performance, enabling this product to tackle heavy footfall with ease. In addition, a specially designed quartz urethane coating is applied above the surface for pet friendly scratch and stain resilience, and anti-slip properties. In fact, Nest Rigid Core is 10x more resistant to impact than standard WPC, making it a cut above many other LVT alternatives.
This product fits together to create the bespoke geometry of classic parquet flooring, measuring at 615mm(L) X 128mm(W). For authentic textures and enhanced charisma, the surface of each vinyl plank has been embossed, and a bevelled edge has been included to create sleek indentation. Together, this imitates the natural intricacies of real wood in hyper realistic detail. Utilising a technically progressive tap down click installation system, each tile is designed to fit seamlessly and securely into one another, locking into place without the need for subfloor prep or adhesives. As a result, materials, labour, and costs are reduced, saving you time and money.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
