Vinyl hosts an array of benefits, both practical and aesthetic. Create a gentle, calming space with this flooring, suitable for any room in your house. Vinyl comes in replicas of stone, tile and wood that you can nearly always get the look you want but at a cheaper price.
Vinyl is extremely easy to clean, with only a sweep and a mop a couple of times a week necessary. It is stain, scratch and waterproof as well, making for a carefree flooring - ideal for busy family homes. Additionally, it is extremely hard wearing, looking good as new for many years. This means that you should have no worries placing it in areas that see heavy domestic use and experience the wear and tear of everyday life.
This flooring shows off a convincing replica of wood’s natural glory, presented through the realistic looking grains, knots and colour variation, that it’s almost impossible to tell it apart from the real thing. Although vinyl is especially popular in kitchens and bathrooms, because of its versatile appearance, it would complement any room in your home, going with a range of colours and furnishings.
Perhaps the best benefit of Rigid Nest Vinyl is that it is SPC, meaning it is a stone composite thus making it super strong. It is engineered in a way that combines limestone and stabilisers to create an extremely durable core. Like any vinyl, it is still 100% waterproof due to the thin layer attached to it, but with added stability and dent resistance.
Vinyl is able to cooperate with under floor heating, something other flooring options such as solid wood cannot. Many homeowners are getting on board with this trend, so it will be a worthy selling point when it is time to move on. We also offer a 30-year guarantee!
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
