SPC is one of the most durable choices of flooring available on the market. It stands for stone plastic composite, creating an extremely durable core. This makes it very popular with households that see a lot of heavy domestic use and high foot traffic, such as the kitchen and living room. It will last for many years looking as good as the day it was installed.
This flooring presents us with a beautiful herringbone pattern, something very on trend at the moment. Herringbone is known for its luxurious appearance and to give the wow factor, it’ll really bring your room to life! Lay it in your hallway to create a grand first impression or in your living room to show off an affluent appearance. The honey hues of this flooring will warm any setting and complement many different furnishing themes and other colours in your room.
You don’t need to spend a fortune on real wood to get the deluxe feel you’ve been after. This product looks so similar to real wood, through the grains and knots, that it’s almost impossible to tell it apart from the real thing. If you need something at a cheaper price and easier maintenance, then we’d always recommend vinyl.
This product is also compatible with under floor heating, something solid wood isn’t able to cooperate with. This fantastic product also comes with a generous 30-year guarantee to give you peace of mind!
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
