What is wastage?
When working out how much flooring to buy, it's important to add on a bit extra. This is because each room is unique in its size and shape and often you'll have to cut several boards to accommodate this. This extra allowance is known as 'wastage'.

Grades Explained
Rustic planks contain knots, imperfections and colour variation found in natural wood. Any open knots and imperfections will be filled in, giving your floor an aged wood effect.
Prime wood contains minimal colour variation and knots, making it the ultimate choice for a clean, uniform finish.

Description
Painswick Glacier Oak 150 x 600 x 14/3mm Click Herringbone Engineered Oak Wood Flooring has a total thickness of 14mm with a 3mm hardtop wear layer and comes in fixed lengths of 600mm. This product is lightly brushed and finished with a pearl satin UV lacquer which gives the plank more texture and a beautiful look.
Each plank has a 4V Groove, bevelled edge giving each plank more definition individually. This floor can be sanded down up to 4 times, however it shouldn't be necessary to do so for the first 15-20 years. The grade of this product is rustic, the most popular in the industry, meaning the planks have more knots and imperfections that give the product much more character and warmth. Additionally, the herringbone floor is on trend this year and will help to immediately modernise your home and keep it in style.
Engineered wood floor is incredibly resistant and can therefore withstand splashes and spillages. However, as this is a natural product we would always advise you to mop up any accidental spills as quickly as possible. Engineered flooring is also able to withstand fluctuations in temperatures which means its compatible with underfloor heating, something that is increasingly popular in modern homes. This ability to endure temperature changes also means that this product can be laid in rooms such as conservatories or basements, where other flooring could damage itself.
Our Glacier Oak planks have a click-joining method that makes the installation process quick and easy. Great for those who love to get stuck into some DIY! Please see the full, downloadable installation guide in the installation tab above for more information.
