If you’re looking for something that has plenty of features and a lot going on, but still keeping that rustic look then this flooring could be perfect. Engineered wood is ideal for practicality, as it is easy to maintain and one of the more durable choices of flooring. You can enjoy all these benefits while impressing anyone who comes into your home with its elegant, timeless magnificence.

This flooring pulls off a change in shade nicely. This can help pick up the darker and lighter décor your room may have. Despite it being a fairly busy, it is very easy on the eye and would look perfect in a hallway or living room. This flooring contains a bevelled edge, which means there is a little groove where the planks fit together, adding to the dimension.

Engineered flooring comes with an array of benefits, not just its pleasing appearance. It is a popular choice with homeowners due to underfloor heating being possible. This is a great investment as when it is time to move on, it will demonstrate as a good selling point to potential buyers.

Its oiled finish protects it well from the elements, with also giving it a bit of gloss. However, if your floor is unfortunately scratched, then the brushed finish is great at blending the scratch in, adding to the products lasting value. But if you do get a scratch that is obvious, its thick wear layer of 5mm means it can be sanded down up to 4 times, which isn’t even necessary for the first 15-20 years. So you can only imagine how long this floor is going to last, even if you decide to place it in high traffic areas! Once more, our 25 year guarantee is a real peace of mind.

If you’re looking to install solid or engineered wood flooring by hand, here are a few things to bear in mind:

Tongue and Groove vs Click

Before you purchase your solid wood flooring, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Tongue and Groove’ and ‘Click’.

• Tongue and Groove is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Along one edge, a ‘tongue’ protrudes from the centre of the board, whilst on the other, an indented groove is cut into the wood. This allows each board to fit together securely.

• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Like tongue and groove, click boards fit together, however, the click method allows the boards to lock into place, snapping together with a single movement.

Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will encourage a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Tongue and Groove and Click boards can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.

Depending on the material of your subfloor, boards can be fixed in a variety of ways. For solid surfaces such as concrete, adhesive is applied directly under the board. For wooden subfloors, the boards can be ‘secret nailed’ along the tongue. Both methods are equally beneficial, giving you outstanding results.

My friends used this company when renovating their house and the flooring looked gorgeous so I thought I’d give them a go myself. I ordered a sample of this floor and fell in love. So glad my friends recommended them, this flooring has completely transformed our kitchen.

Delivery was delayed which was a little disappointing but the floor itself is great. Good quality and easy to fit.
