This stunning example of engineered wood shows off a timeless beauty and elegance. Wood is so popular as not only does it give your home added luxury, but complements many different interior themes and furnishings. This product presents us with an easy-going and versatile colour, so you should have no concerns changing things around if you do decide to redecorate.

This Painswick Tuborg Oak 150 x 600 x 14/3 presents an ABC grade, which is one of the more rustic options. It allows the natural variation of wood to be presented beautifully without it being too over the top, making it the most popular grade as a result. You get the wood’s natural imperfections that will flow charmingly throughout, adding character and charisma to your room. This product comes unfinished, so it would need to be applied by yourself. It does come brushed however, which adds texture and appeal.

Wood flooring is incredibly durable, lasting for a lifetime if looked after properly. Perfect for rooms that see high foot fall such as the hallway or living room. Once more the stunning herringbone pattern is often chosen to give the wow factor, ideal for the hallway to make a grand impression!

Real wood flooring is also scratch, stain and waterproof, however we’d recommend cleaning up any spillages as soon as possible as they can cause damage if left. Don’t worry if the worst does happen though, the beauty of real wood is that it can be sanded down to eradicate any damage and wear, depending on the wear layer. This product boasts a generous wear layer of 3mm, meaning you can sand it down twice! However, this should not need to be done for 15-20 years, so you can only imagine how long these gorgeous floorings last for!

The main benefit engineered wood has over solid wood is that is able to withstand fluctuating temperatures, meaning you can install underfloor heating. We have also included a fantastic 25-year guarantee!

Our Engineered Flooring can be installed in three different ways, so it depends on your joining method, the subfloor and what sort of method you prefer.

  1. 1. Floating Floor
  2. In a floating floor, the boards are joined to each other, instead of to the subfloor. If you have a click-joining floor, floating is the way to go. If not, you could still use this method by gluing the tongue and the groove joint together. Either way, we'd advise you to have underlay installed and prepped. We wouldn't recommend this method for tongue & groove parquet as it won't be as sturdy.

  3. 2. Gluing
  4. With this method, adhesive is applied to the top of the subfloor with a trowel and then the individual planks are laid on top. This is our favoured method for tongue & groove parquet flooring but isn't suitable for any type of click-fit boards.

  5. 3. Nailing
  6. With this method, secret nails go through the tongue to secure the planks to a wooden subfloor. Because of this, nailing is only suitable for tongue & groove floors, not click-fit. Professional fitters tend to prefer this method as the result is extremely secure. You'll need to fit a wood layer above any concrete because secret nailing cannot be done directly on top of a concrete subfloor.
