If you’re unsure however, we would always recommend consulting a specialists who will be able to lay the professionally and safely for you. This product also has square edges which refers the this edges of the plank being straight cut as opposed to being curved as with a bevelled edge product for example. Square edged products have planks that fit together tightly on all sides which means there are no gaps and give a smooth underfoot texture.
As a Polyflor product, the VIN1010 is therefore totally waterproof meaning you can install it in rooms such as bathrooms and or kitchens without the worry of the floor becoming damaged from exposure to moisture of liquids. Similarly spills are incredibly easy to clean as vinyl is impervious to liquids. We would however always recommend clearing spills as soon as they happen to avoid any possibility of staining. Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
