As a Polyflor product, the VIN1040 will show amazing durability and offer ultimate protection to give you a beautiful floor for years to come. Additionally, vinyl floors including this one are waterproof. This enables you to work with this product in more rooms than other material types. The waterproof abilities mean you can install this floor in rooms such as bathroom or kitchens, giving you that stunning wood effect aesthetic without the worry of damaging the product from liquid or moisture exposure that are inevitable in any property.

This product has square edges which means that the edges of the product aren't shaped, they are straight cut. Straight edged planks fit together rightly to create a fluid and clean cut finish that can look incredibly modern. When installing this floor, a glueing method should be used to lay the planks safely and securely. Glueing is a fairly simple and easy method to lay a floor, but for more information, please see the installation tab above to download our helpful guide.

Installation

If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:

Glue Gown vs Click

Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.

• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.

• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.

Floating

Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.

A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.

Fixing

Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.

LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
