Unlike a real limestone floor though, a vinyl floor offers you a lot less regular maintenance demands as well as the waterproof properties. The ability to avoid moisture damage makes this floor ideal for use in bathrooms or kitchens for that ease of cleaning spillages without the concern of longterm damage.
With it’s square edges, VIN1025 offers a fantastic final look once installed. A square edge refers to the straight edges of the product. Where some may be curved or shaped, square products fit together tightly when laid and offer a clean cut and modern look. The way to install this product is by glueing the planks down. Glueing is a quick and simple method of putting in a floor and any DIY fan should be able to take on the job themselves. If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
