Polyflor Expona Design Wood Blond Country Plank Vinyl Flooring - product code VIN1009 - has a total thickness of 3mm with a 0.70mm wear layer. This wear layer will hugely help to protect your floor against the everyday wear and tear imperfections that are unavoidable. This product has a plank width of 152mm, a lengths of 914mm and is sold in pack sizes of 3.34m2. If you’re unsure of how many pack sizes you need for your specific floor, our team of specialists would be happy to answer your questions over the online chat or by the phone and best advise you.
The VIN1009 has square edges which mean the planks are straight cut as opposed to being shaped or curved as with a bevelled edge product for example. This means that the planks fit together tightly on all sides and leave no gaps to create a smooth and clean cut finish that is beautifully modern. With the wood effect finish you get the great look of a wood floor with the added comfort of a vinyl, which is much softer underfoot which makes it perfect for residential properties. As well as this, VIN1009 is a Polyflor product, which means it is also waterproof. By being waterproof, this product can therefore be used in rooms such as kitchens and even bathrooms without the concern of damaging the product from long-term exposure to liquids and or moisture. Because of this, cleaning is also considerably less taxing since all this floor needs is a sweep or hoover and a damp mop to maintain its great look.
The blonde country effect of this product brings a lot of character and light to a room and can help to create a modern and spacious atmosphere. For further information about floorings see our blog for regular posts including current flooring trends.
If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
