The TLC Loc Graphite Ash Luxury Vinyl Tile is 1212mm long and 177mm wide, and has a total thickness of 4.5mm. It also has a wear layer of 0.55mm. The beveled edges on this flooring add depth and definition, meaning they make a room look larger.

The colour of this floor makes it unique and sophisticated. It can help create monochrome themes or simply a stylish and elegant look that will impress guests and never go out of fashion. The shade also makes it easier to hide dirt, meaning it will be useful in busy households or for those who are too busy to clean every day. It is an emulation of ash, meaning the grain and knots will be faint, but still clearly wood as opposed to stone or tiles. This also means there are lighter tones running throughout, which helps match the floor to other monochrome decor and not make it overpoweringly dark.

Vinyl flooring looks identical to the material it emulates, but is always a fraction of the price of authentic alternatives. It is comfortable for walking on, as it is thick, cushioned, and works well with underfloor heating to maintain heat year round. Alternatives do not provide this. Vinyl is also hard-wearing, meaning it can withstand lots of footfall, as well as being non-absorbent, anti-slip and easy to clean. This makes it suitable for the bathroom, kitchen, hallway, lounge and dining room, aided by the fact it is available in the style of any material or pattern you can think of!

Vinyl wood creates that air of elegance without the price tag or deforestation that occurs with authentic wood, which is especially useful for those who want to look after the planet and their wallet. It also has the advantage of not warping or shrinking in changes to humidity like real wood does, meaning underfloor heating is suitable and your floor will stay as you bought it for years to come.

This product is installed using the click system, otherwise known as a ‘floating floor’. This is achieved by gluing the click parts of the board together and allowing the floor as a whole to float, usually cushioned with use of an underlay. It can be done easily by yourself too if you are interested in a DIY project! Please see the full, downloadable installation guide in the installation tab above for more information.

If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:

Glue Down vs Click

Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.

• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.

• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.

Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.

A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.

Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.

LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
