The TLC Massimo Invent Cottage Sandstone Parquet Luxury Vinyl Tile is 610mm long, 102mm wide, and a has thickness of 2.5mm. It also has a wear layer of 0.55mm, and bevelled edges that add depth and definition, meaning they make a room look larger.

A grey shaded floor can add something unique but still natural looking. It perfectly balances a room’s brightness, regardless of whether the décor is dark or light, and adds an air of luxury. Grey tends to match any colour thanks to its neutrality, and never goes out of fashion, meaning it will not need updating any time soon. This is especially true for parquet flooring, providing excellent value for money.

Vinyl tiles create that modern and sophisticated look without the uncomfortable cold, hard feeling of tiles underfoot. Instead, there is a possibility for underfloor heating, which combined with the aforementioned vinyl benefits, makes your floor extremely cosy whilst retaining the beauty of tiles.

The herringbone appearance means the blocks alternate to give a ‘zig-zag’ look, and are the most fashionable and common form of parquet flooring. Parquet flooring is vintage, luxurious and comes in a variety of patterns, making it versatile enough for any home. The patterns add something unique and eye catching, without ever going out of fashion, giving you excellent value for money.

Vinyl flooring does not look noticeably different from the material it emulates, but is always a fraction of the price of authentic alternatives. It is comfortable for walking on, as it is thick, cushioned, and works well with underfloor heating to maintain heat year round that tiles or solid wood for example cannot offer. Vinyl is also hard-wearing, meaning it can withstand lots of footfall, as well as being non-absorbent, anti-slip and easy to clean. This makes it suitable for the bathroom, kitchen, hallway, lounge and dining room - aided by the fact that parquet is available in variety of styles.

Installation

If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:

Glue Gown vs Click

Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.

• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.

• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.

Floating

Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.

A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.

Fixing

Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.

LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
