6.74m² - TLC Massimo Wood Plank Reclaimed Oak Luxury Vinyl Flooring - 5267 (2 packs) This TLC Massimo Reclaimed Oak Luxury Vinyl Flooring is from the stunning Massimo range which is 2.5mm thick with a 0.55mm wear layer. This reclaimed oak product has a total width of 184.2mm with fixed lengths of 1219.2mm Unlike real wood, wood-style vinyl does not require the same maintenance, especially in terms of water absorption. This makes it easier to clean and less likely to become damaged or need replacing, whilst looking just as realistic. Vinyl flooring does not look noticeably different from the material it emulates, but is always a fraction of the price of authentic alternatives. It is comfortable for walking on, as it is thick, cushioned, and works well with underfloor heating to maintain heat year round that tiles for example cannot offer. Vinyl is also hard-wearing, meaning it can withstand lots of footfall, as well as being non-absorbent, anti-slip and easy to clean. This makes it suitable for the bathroom, kitchen, hallway, lounge and dining room, aided by the fact it is available in the style of wood, tiles, stone, mosaic and other patterns. TLC is a well respected luxury vinyl flooring manufacturer which offers ultimate protection and durability for both residential and commercial properties. All TLC products are waterproof making it ideal for kitchens and bathrooms. If you’re looking to install luxury vinyl tiles by hand, there are a few things to bear in mind:
Glue Down vs Click
Before you purchase your LVT, check which installation system it uses. There are two main types: ‘Glue Down’ and ‘Click’.
• Glue Down is more traditional, ensuring dimensional stability and strength. Each tile is placed in a desired pattern, and set alongside the neighbouring tiles.
• Click installation is quick and hassle free. Each tile fits together seamlessly and securely, locking into place with a single movement.
Floating
Many fitters prefer floating their tiles due to quick and easy installation. Floating does not require you to fix your flooring to a subfloor, however, only click tiles can be fitted this way.
A thin underlay is fitted underneath the tile to encourage cushioning underfoot. Floating helps cut down on labour, whilst ensuring that your boards are comfortable and strong underfoot.
Fixing
Fixing your flooring to the subfloor will ensure a long lifespan and minimal movement. Both Glue Down and Click tiles can be fitted this way, however, it is more popular with the former.
LVT can be installed above most existing hard surfaces, such as concrete, plywood, tiles, and wood boards. Adhesive is applied directly under the tile, setting rigidly into place.
