This width is the most common for solid wood flooring simply because it is the most stable combination of width and length, enabling relatively long lengths of flooring. Solid wood flooring comes in a variety of finishes and styles including lacquered, hand scraped and brushed and oiled amongst others. 120mm wood flooring can be fitted in 3 ways including a floating floor, fully glued down and secret nailed.
As with all solid wood flooring you should always use a suitable underlay, for concrete subfloors you will need to have an underlay with a DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) built in. Whilst where wooden subfloors are present a normal cushion underlay would be adequate. The most common widths of solid wood flooring are; 120mm solid wood flooring, 123mm solid wood flooring, 125mm solid wood flooring,130mm solid wood flooring.
